Snow Scenes On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (December 24-25, 2007)
On the afternoon of Christmas Eve, the sun
came out and it reached 40 degrees in some areas. The warmth made a small dent
in melting the snow we've had in the past few weeks.
I visited a portion of the Colorado Trail west of Buena Vista.
I didn't walk that far on the trail, but I did
manage to capture these shots of young aspens in the snow and a creek largely engulfed in snow.
The top photo is Chaffee County Road 306.
The ice on the road was beginning to melt in earnest, but the hard snowfall
we received on Christmas Day (lowest photo in this collection) changed all that.
Second photo: A snowy country road.
The view of the Buffalo Peaks in the background.
Here was the view of my backyard at about 9 a.m. on Christmas Day.
